So the results are officially in for last Sundays amazing LTSI English open national Taekwon-Do tournament. This competition is quickly becoming THE open tournament to enter, and main organizer Chris Snow did an amazing job of running such a large competition!

Okay so we embarrassingly only managed to send 115 of our competitors to this event but I can honestly say that every single one of them have done us very proud indeed.

We won 49 medals as a club, we also won the most medals across all the teams in total, with 2 of our teams finishing in 2nd place and 3rd place out of 36 schools across England! Well done to BLTSA for coming first Also a big well done to many of the smaller schools who entered and came very high up the listing. It was also great to see our good friends from Pro Proaction Martial Arts doing so well on the day, I know they will be aiming to get first next time

A full list of medal winners is below, as well as many pictures of our students in action on the day. I must say that there are many names not on the list of our winners who I feel deserve to be, do not worry, your time is soon!!

However, to me it is not the winning the medals that was the most special moment.

For me the most special part of the day occurred on the ring that I was corner judging – Black Belt boys 10-12 year old’s.

Due to previous small entries, all boys in this category were grouped together as one group regardless of height or weight or age. What this meant was that in every round all our younger junior black belts came up against an opponent much larger than them. In one case the opponent was a boy of 5’10, this was almost 2 foot taller than our guy! Imagine fighting someone 2 foot taller than you!

In the spirit of Palcic TKD Spartans, our boys did not see this as a problem at all, but were excited by the odds being stacked so overwhelmingly against them

So regardless of the mismatches and impossible task they had, not one of our kids showed any fear, or refused to fight, or backed off or even retreated in any way at all. They fought like true warriors, that is why we rightly called them the PALCIC SPARTANS – never give up!! – A very proud instructor!!!
