Unified World Championships
So now the Unified ITF world championships are over, I just want to say how proud I am of all our members who entered. We had a great over all medal hall for competitors including 10 bronze medals, 1 silver, and one gold medal!
I was lucky enough to coach many of my students, and I have to say that even though some of you eventually lost to the better opponent, that you all performed exceptionally well and I could not have asked for more than what you gave. I am very proud of you all! At many times we won, and we only lost to extremely good opponents.
I would also like to thank all our team of instructors who took the time out to go down and spend the weekend coaching or umpiring. It is mandatory that competing clubs send officials to event, and so without you guys prepared to give up your time for the cause, we would not be able to send students to enter. Thanks to Carlo Schettino Rod Western Diane Moore Ewa Iwanow(and sister) Suhrab Sayfi and of course Aniil EM for all your hard work.
Finally – thanks to all the parents who support the whole process! Not just turning up to support the event, but also the constant support in making sure your kids get to the clubs, so that we can do the job of getting them ready for such high level events. It requires a massive support from parents to get the kids this far and further, you will always have my 100 percent commitment in return!
Next Unifieds World championships are in Argentina in 2 years time.. We start working for this next week!
